This blog is about the insights gained from wilderness living, simplicity, quietude and living on the fringe of society. It’s about embracing the belief that life is serendipitous happenstance grounded in nature, a belief that allows for the spontaneous un-folding of mystical wonderment, which we call ‘dancing with the mystery.’

I often use doodles with underlying meaning that hopefully will give you an oppertunity to explore my ambiguities because there are no certainties or definitives. We simply drift in a vast expanse of empty open evenness and there in lies the joy in being.

I hold a Doctor of Divinity in esoteric belief systems and my wife is the wizard of wisdom and simplicity.

      1. I do like to endlessly research and discover the blogs that aren’t always easy to find. I come across some inspiring pieces of writing, hidden away, but they are valuable, even if they are obscure.

  5. I’ve been looking around at your wonderful work. I’m fairly new at blogging, Oct/Nov/2018. I write poetry and short stories as you may know 🙂 but the Art of creating with another medium has eluded me. I look forward to witnessing more of your work. Take Good Care.

    I enjoy your work, and think it would be interesting to see a post about how you got into digital art?

    Also, many of the images are quite complex, and I often wonder how they are made.

    (My stuff was all done the old-fashioned way: so I know nothing when it comes to computer art.)

    1. Thanks Ken. I’ll give that some thought. The complexity is achieved through under painting and adding layers of varying transparency. I stumbled on digital art accidentally with my wife’s kindle fire a few years ago. The simplicity of use and small amount of space required appealed to me and I just started experimenting with various apps that were available. I currently use a simple iPad and 3 primary painting apps.

      2. Initially I was in the same position but after many hours of research and experimenting I’m where I want to be as far as equipment and painting apps. It begins with how you want to paint, indirect using a computer, a drawing pad with a computer or directly working with you finger or a stylus on a tablet. I prefer the tablet, the painting apps average $10.00 or are free as opposed to $80.00 or more for computers except the open source stuff like ‘Gimp’ which is free. Computer apps have many options for brushes and effects but can be tedious and complex. Tablet apps are simply and have enough options for me. Let me know if I can help particularly regarding using tablets.

        I only have my Mac computer, at present, which tends to cut down the options in most areas of interest.
        (Never owned a tablet, actually, but it sounds like an easier route to get started.)

  10. Interesting to read more about how you create your mysterious and delightful images. I’m still amazed by the depth and textural layers you’re able to achieve on a tablet, but then again, I know very little about techniques involved in digital art. However, I most definitely enjoy experiencing your work!
